Where the Piney Woods start
Mt Pleasant is the Titus County seat, about 50 miles southeast of Paris on US-271 where it meets I-30. Head south and east of town and the land gets more wooded, which is why clearing is the first step on most residential jobs here — and lakes like Bob Sandlin draw people building homes and cabins on tree-covered lots.
